Welcome to Fernwood
Fernwood is a full-service landscape design-build studio dedicated to creating thoughtful, enduring outdoor spaces throughout the Lake Oswego community.
Our work blends architectural inspiration with ecological awareness, pairing climate-adapted ornamentals with Pacific Northwest natives to craft landscapes that feel beautiful, intentional, and rooted in place.
We believe that every property has its own character, shaped by the home’s architecture, the surrounding land, and how our clients envision using their outdoor areas. We take the time to understand these details and translate them into designs that are fully customized, and never template-driven.
Fernwood provides comprehensive design-to-build services as well as stand-alone solutions, including hardscaping, irrigation, water features, lighting, plant procurement, fine gardening, and seasonal maintenance.
As a part of the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network and a certified Backyard Habitat Provider, we place great care into our work as stewards of the local environment.

About the Founder
Kelly founded Fernwood Landscapes in 2024 as one of the only female landscape contractors in the Portland, Oregon area.
As a Lake Oswego resident, she brings a deep connection to the community and a strong understanding of the local environment to every project. With a background in art and a BA in Art Studio from UC Santa Barbara, Kelly combines creativity with technical skill, earning her landscape design degree from PCC and her contractor’s license to lead Fernwood with expertise and passion. She collaborates closely with skilled tradespeople who share her vision, transforming environments through innovative design solutions.
A lifelong yoga practitioner and instructor since 2008, Kelly draws inspiration from yoga to cultivate balance in her work and connect with clients. Her approach to design is collaborative and precise, guiding projects from concept to completion while ensuring every landscape is functional, resilient, and reflective of the people who live there.
